How Ultrathin And Complex Features Are Linked

The innovative combination of materials is not the biggest surprise it brings. The hardest part is how to associate complex functions with ultra-thin. We know that there are not a few brands that make ultra-thin watches on the market, but from our perspective, there are always a variety of problems when ultra-thin watches are worn daily. The thinner thickness of the case means less space for the movement. All the components, whether they are as large as the splint or as small as the screw assembly, need to be redesigned and manufactured, which greatly increases the technical requirements of watchmakers and designers.

In 1921, best replica Audemars Piguet introduced the thinnest pocket watch in history. At that time, the movement was only 1.32 mm. Looking at this perpetual calendar watch for a few days, the thickness of the movement is only 2.89 millimeters, and it is a watch with a perpetual calendar and moon equivalent functions. How does the brand work?

In order to meet the requirements for a thinner movement, Audemars Piguet redesigned the perpetual calendar movement, which is usually a three-layer structure, into a single-layer structure. This in turn has developed two patented innovative designs for the brand: the end-of-month calendar cam is incorporated into the date wheel, and the end-of-month cam is incorporated into the month wheel. The shape of each component is also optimized to reduce unnecessary adjustment and assembly time.

In terms of design, the iconic square case design of the Royal Oak series is still retained. The case, bracelet and bezel are alternately polished and brushed with satin-finish, and the dial of the Royal Oak series ultra-thin self-winding perpetual calendar watch. The blue "Grande Tapisserie" pattern is no longer decorated, but is replaced by a blue satin finish, which enhances legibility and the delicate beauty of the watch as a whole.
