During the 2024 watch fair, Zenith launched a new DEFY EXTREME Diver watch, combining the unique orange bezel design of the A3648 dive watch launched in 1969 with the characteristics of modern versions of the DEFY series, especially the DEFY EXTREME watch.The Zenith DEFY A3648 watch was first launched in 1969, and the design of the new DEFY EXTREME Diver is one of its sources of inspiration.

This watch features an oversized screw-down crown with titanium crown guards on both sides, a design identical to the earlier DEFY A3648. It is also water-resistant to 600 meters, meeting the ISO 6245 standard for professional diving watches, making it suitable for most extreme environments, including ice, deep sea, and fog.

To ensure clear readability in deep-sea conditions, the oversized hands and applied hour markers on the dial of the new DEFY EXTREME Diver are adorned with three different colors of Super-LumiNova X1 luminescent material: blue, green, and orange.

The watch is powered by Zenith's in-house El Primero 3620-SC high-frequency automatic movement, boasting a 60-hour power reserve, clearly visible through the sapphire crystal case back—a feature rarely seen in diving watches. This El Primero movement features an antimagnetic escapement, and its key components are made of non-metallic silicon.
